Eliza Maxwell, CRNP
Founder
Eliza Maxwell, founder of homeRN, grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She attended the University of Alabama, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and later completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing at the University of South Alabama in 2012. For the past 16 years, she has lived in Mountain Brook, which she now calls home.
Eliza began her nursing career at St. Vincent’s Birmingham, working on the orthopedic floor and in the cardiovascular intensive care unit. She then advanced to an Advanced Practice Nurse role with Alabama Cardiovascular Group before transitioning to Alegis Care, a home health agency. During her time in home health, Eliza saw firsthand the critical need for nursing care at home, especially after procedures, hospitalizations, and changes in health conditions to ensure optimal recovery. She also recognized the emotional and physical toll on families caring for loved ones and knew there had to be a better solution. Her vision was to create a model where nurses coordinate care, easing the burden on families while ensuring their loved ones receive the support they need at home.
Determined to fill this gap in care, Eliza founded homeRN in Birmingham to bring expert concierge nursing and caregiving services directly into people’s homes. Her vision quickly gained traction, leading to homeRN expanding across the Southeast. Eliza owns two additional franchise locations in Auburn and Montgomery and leads seven independently owned franchises in Alabama, Nashville, and South Carolina.
As the leader of homeRN, Eliza is committed to providing premier in-home concierge healthcare services, ensuring families receive expert, compassionate support when needed. Through homeRN, she continues to set a new standard for home nursing, helping clients achieve the best possible outcomes in the comfort and security of their own homes.
