Emily Harmon, RN
Co-Owner, homeRN Hoover Vestavia
Born in Austin, Texas, Emily was raised in Hoover, Alabama, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University—War Eagle! With a career dedicated to critical care, she has spent the past 10 years specializing in hospice and palliative care. Emily has held various roles, from bedside nursing to leadership positions, always driven by her passion for enhancing the quality of life for patients in the comfort of their own homes.
A devoted wife to Jeremy and proud mom of two amazing children, Briley and Tucker, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, reading, and perfecting her sourdough baking skills.
She is thrilled to be part of the homeRN family and even more excited to work alongside her twin sister. Honored to serve her local community, Emily is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to those in need.
Alyssa Weyandt, RN
Co-Owner, homeRN Hoover Vestavia
Born in Austin, Texas, Alyssa has spent most of her life in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Auburn University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Alyssa began her nursing career in cardiology at St. Vincent’s Birmingham, where she worked for seven years before transitioning to a local home IV infusion company. Most recently, she cared for patients and their loved ones at Compassus Hospice, guiding them through one of life’s most delicate and meaningful stages. During her nine years in hospice, she gained extensive experience caring for individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, and cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Through this work, Alyssa witnessed firsthand the physical and emotional toll of caregiving, deepening her understanding of the critical need for in-home care services.
Now, she is excited to embark on this new journey alongside her twin sister, Emily, continuing her passion for providing compassionate care and support to clients in their own homes.
Alyssa and her husband, Mitchell, live in Vestavia Hills with their two children, Mary Beth and Charlie, and their chocolate lab, Maggie. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, being outdoors, exercising, and reading.
